To start filming your first TikTok all you need to do is click the little + button in the bottom center of your screen and start filming. Once you decide on the kind of video you’re making you can drop in a trending sound or use the voice-over feature for a completely unique video. Some of the most popular videos on TikTok are “How To” videos, Get Ready With Me, Lip-Sync videos, making duet videos – when you drop in those relevant hashtags and captions you combine the power of a leading trend with the power of SEO! You can also add a host of cool video and photo filters to your post or even use TikTok’s voice distorting feature (found under the Voice Effects button) for a quirky post. Adding some text to your actual video is also a great way to grab a viewer’s attention as they’re more likely to see the big text layered over your video rather than your caption at the bottom of the screen – this can be done in a flash by hitting the Text button before recording or while editing your video. You can also add fun stickers by hitting the button below the Text one. Now that you’ve fine-tuned the details of your post you can either choose to share it as a post that lives on your profile or a disappearing post on your story. At this point you can add your mentions and hashtags, customize the privacy settings, allow comments, and choose whether you want to share your video to your other social profiles.
